As a Reverse Mortgage Advisor/Loan Originator, Kathy integrates her education background, personal experience, and compassion to help people make informed decisions about reverse mortgage loans. She has been in the reverse mortgage business for fifteen years.
Kathy first developed an interest in becoming a Reverse Mortgage Advisor/Loan Originator while caring for her then 93 year-old mother. At 93, her mother was mentally sharp, received a good pension and Social Security, but she began to fall, especially during the night. Her stated goal was live the rest of her life in her own home. Kathy and her mother needed options and information to pay for in-home lifelong 24/7 care. After research and thoughtful consideration, she and her mother decided to select the option of a reverse mortgage that allowed her mother to happily remain in her home for the rest of her life without having to ask her daughters to pay for her care. After passing away at nearly 99 years old, Kathy and her sisters sold the property which automatically paid off the reverse mortgage and the remainder was divided according to her mother’s trust.
A credentialed educator for over 30 years, Kathy successfully taught across grade levels and curriculum from Pre-K to 6th grade in both private and public schools. In adult education, Kathy has been a successful teacher-of-teachers, and now spends much of her time educating seniors, their families, and their financial advisors about reverse mortgage options.
